Manila is the core of welcoming acceptance, with pride marches taking place here annually in recent years. The most recent one, 2019’s #ResistTogether, took place at the Marikina Sports Complex. The event celebrated the country’s diversity and was fashioned as a protest against transphobia, homophobia, and biphobia. The pride also focused on support and passage for the SOGIE Equality Bill. It was the most-attended march in history with 70,000 people.
